Daniel Lapham’s passion for storytelling and his drive to use his passion and skills to tell his client’s story is what set’s Idealist Creative Media, LLC apart from the crowd. Daniel believes wholeheartedly in the power and potential a well-crafted story has to change our world for the better.
Daniel began his career in journalism while attending Oklahoma City Community College. From there he continued his journey at the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. After earning his Bachelor degree in Journalism in May, 2006, Daniel worked as a feature reporter and photographer for the Muskogee Phoenix newspaper.
Moving back to Oklahoma City in 2007, Daniel worked for the El Reno Tribune as a photographer and reporter. Documentary filmmaking was a natural fit for Daniel's curiosity, feature storytelling background, and belief that telling people's stories can serve as the bridge that connects our past to our future. Daniel joined OETA in August, 2008 as a documentary photojournalist and editor for Stateline, Gallery and The State of Creativity.
From there Daniel accepted a position as the chief videographer and editor for Jasco Products in October, 2011. As a part of the in-house marketing department, he worked with a team to produce professional video projects highlighting and teaching consumers how to get the most from their purchases.
Feeling a void in his desire to find and tell individuals stories of passion and altruism, Daniel formed Idealist Creative Media, LLC in January of 2013 as a side project to work with nonprofits and creatives. In September of 2013 Daniel rejoined El Reno Tribune to build their online and video production footprint. While in El Reno, Daniel created a monthly video magazine highlighting the unique elements of life, work and play that make up this western Oklahoma community.
